  • Can I order by phone?

    All purchases must be made through our website. We like to keep it quick and simple.

  • Can I order mixed cases?

    Our standard cases are six bottles of the same wine. Time to time, we may offer six-bottle cases containing a selection of wines, but it is not possible to customise your cases.

  • Can I return my order?

    You may return your order for any reason whatsoever within 7 working days from the date you receive your wine, provided that all of the bottles are unopened and intact.

    Call us and notify us and we will reimburse the price of the wine once it has been collected, returned to our warehouse and inspected.

  • Do you deliver to non-UK addresses?

    At the moment we do not deliver to non-UK addresses. This is due to the complexity and cost of shipping wine overseas, and the associated customs, excise, and duty charges. In the future, it is possible that we may expand our offer to other territories, and if we do we’ll let you know.

  • How can I be sure that the wine you’re offering is high quality?

    Our sommeliers regularly meet to select the wines for our sales. They blind taste the wines to ensure that they are selecting based on the quality of what is in the bottle, not what is on the label. Every wine presented on our list is one that our sommeliers would serve at their tables (or keep for themselves).

  • How can you offer such great prices?

    We have deliberately created a very simple and low-cost operating model. Because we keep a small range and only ship in six-bottle cases, we can keep our costs down and get great deals from our winemakers and importers. We can then pass those savings on to you.

  • How do I access the sales?

    As a member, you will receive invitations to our sales by email and you will be able to access them through our website at any time with your email address and password. You can also follow us on facebook and twitter to receive notifications of new sales.

  • How do I invite friends to be a member?

    As a member you can invite friends to join by entering their email address in the referral system you find at the top right of the sales page. You will get a £10 voucher when the person you refer makes their first purchase. There is no limit to the amount of vouchers you can have, which is a great reason for inviting as many friends as you like!

  • How do I know if my friend has made a purchase?

    You'll receive an email from us once the friend you invited places their first order. We'll also add a £10 voucher to your account.

  • How do I know if my friends join?

    You'll receive an email from us whenever one of the friends you've invited becomes a Member. You can also see a list and send reminders to any of your friends from the Invite page.

  • How do I place an order?

    You can sign-in to our website via the email notifications, or directly at Select the wine you would like to purchase, and specify how many six-bottle cases you would like to receive. Once you have added in your delivery and payment information, the website will remember this (completely securely) for future purchases. You can change your details at any time by clicking on “My Account”.

  • How do I unsubscribe?

    You can unsubscribe from our offer newsletter by clicking the “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of the email, or by changing your Subscription settings in “My Account”. If you want to re-subscribe, you can sign in to the website and change your Subscription settings back to receive the emails.

  • How do I use my vouchers?

    You can select to use any vouchers you have available when you checkout your basket. Each voucher does have an expiry date, so make sure you use them and don’t miss out.

  • How do the sales work?

    Twice a week, by invitation email, we will present one or more wines from different producers, at very competitive prices and in limited quantities. Every sale will last only a short time (e.g. two weeks) or until the available quantity is sold out.

  • How long does each sale last?

    Each sale only lasts for a limited period of time. Sales duration and opening times are visible on the actual sales page and on the notification email you have requested to receive. This enables us to give our member access to more exciting wine producers they want to discover at insider prices.

  • How often do you repeat the same sale?

    Never. We are always looking for the best wines we can find for our sales. Because of the way we source and stock SommelierCellar, we sometimes have only a few cases of any wine to sell and when it's gone, it really is gone. But we are constantly updating our list with new high-quality wines selected by our expert team of sommeliers.

  • How will I know about the new sales?

    You will receive an email every time a new sale starts, normally 2 times per week. You can also regularly access the website entering your email and password

  • If I chose wines from different sales do I have to pay for multiple deliveries?

    Absolutely not! To keep things very simple we charge a flat delivery fee of £6.99, regardless of how many cases are delivered to the same address. And if your order is above £150 we’ll deliver it free of charge up to 3 cases. Any additional case will be charged at cost.

  • Is it safe to use my credit card?

    SommelierCellar accepts credit card payments through a secure online server with state-of-the-art encryption and secure sockets layer (SSL) technology for the transfer of credit card information. We are fully PCI complaint (web security standard for transactions) which means we meet the strict set of requirements designed to ensure that companies that process, store or transmit credit card information maintain a secure environment.

  • The bottles are damaged, what do I do?

    If some or all of the bottles of wine in a case are broken or spoiled when they are delivered you should notify us as soon as possible. Details of how to contact us can be found on our Contact page. You may choose either to return the whole case or just the affected bottles for a refund. Any wines collected by our carrier must be in their original box to avoid further breakages, where possible.

  • What is SommelierCellar?

    SommelierCellar is a private online members-only service providing insider access, expert knowledge, and exclusive sales on the most exquisite wines we can find. Each sale features a list of wines carefully selected by our panel of leading wine experts and is open for a limited period only.

    Membership is free and with no obligation to buy, but the option to become a member by visiting the site directly will be available for a limited time only. Once the open membership access is closed you will have to be referred by a friend who is already a member in order to join.

  • What is the minimum order?

    We sell all our wines in six-bottle cases. The down-side of this is that it is not possible to purchase a mixed case. The up-side is that this allows us to obtain the best prices with our suppliers, reduce the complexity of the orders and pass on all the savings to you.

  • What payment methods do you accept?

    We accept Visa, Visa Delta, MasterCard, American Express, Maestro and Solo cards.

  • When I do join, do I have to buy wine?

    Absolutely not. There is no obligation to buy once you’re a member at all.

  • When will my wine arrive?

    We deliver almost all of our orders within 7 working days to almost everywhere in the UK. We will send you a confirmation email when your wine is shipped from our warehouse.

  • Who selects the wines?

    We are extremely proud of our expert panel. A unique combination of wine experts from different nationalities and with different points of view brings you the most exciting wines from known and less known producers.

  • Why should I be a member of SommelierCellar?

    By becoming a member you will have access to discounts that only industry insiders have previously enjoyed. Thanks to more than 50 years of combined experience, our sommeliers will help you discover new wines that they would select for their own wine cellar. The kinds of wines they select would normally only be available on the wine lists of top restaurants or at specialty retailers. We offer them to members at a price available only to wine trade insiders.
